Bethel tree planting in Gilbert Park area

February 26, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Bethel tree planting in Gilbert Park area
on February 26 from 9am-noon.

All are welcome to help! RSVP please.

The Active Bethel Community has been partnering with Friends of Trees to plant trees in the park and neighborhoods to reduce heat island effects in the Bethel neighborhoods which according to TreeEquityScore.org has a lower tree canopy coverage than more afflfluent parts of Eugene.
We saw a HUGE turnout for the MLK event and park dedication at Andrea Ortiz park, so there are many experienced tree planters now! If you would like to help again on February 26, we will be meeting at Gilbert Park (615 Gilbert Street) at 9:00am.

You must sign up (RSVP) to plant trees:
Call Friends of Trees at: 541-632-3683

There will be a tree planting in the Mangan Park area on March 26 and you can sign up now.

If you live in the Mangan Park area on North Clary between Cubit and Barger, please watch for a letter in the next 2-3 weeks from Friends of Trees. It is an opt-out program, so you only need to contact them if you DON’T want a tree planted in the planting strip near the road. They choose trees that will be best suited for your home and that won’t disturb your sidewalk. You can also call them if you would like to choose your tree.
